P'Suporn is my friend and sister in the Lord during my college days, so long ago. She is a gift from God since then and continues to be such a blessing to me and my family. She and her husband, Pastor Savang has a Thai Laos church in San Rafael in California. They came to visit me at the Children's home and has been supporting me ever since... I got to visit them and the faithful people at the church. They love the Lord and is making a difference in the lives of people there in northern California. Thank you, P'Suporn and Pastor Savang for the wonderful hospitality. Lovely ladies and new found sisters in the Lord... looking forward to seeing you again next year. Lord willing...

Each little girl has her own special story to tell about the past. As I interviewed each of of the 33 children and help translate their stories, I couldn't help but to ask the question... "What would have happened to them if they had not come to the children's home at Breanna's House of Joy?" These once abandoned little girls would have no future and no real home where they belong. Thank God, and thank sponsors who made it possible for them to have a place to live, to learn and to thrive.
God always bring very special people to the children's home. It is such a privilege to translate for each team that comes. A team may come for many reasons... to bless our girls, to bring training for the staff and to partner with us in the ministry. Each person leaves with us joy and encouragement. Thank you for visiting us...
We use coconut oil and tree tea oil to combat the lice. We usually have to do this about twice a year. The oil treatment is good for the hair and skin and drown out the lice. After a few hours, we comb out their hair to get rid of the pests and the eggs. The girls are such troopers as we have to do this 2-3 weekends in a row!
Last week, we had a lot of excitement about the big cave rescue of the soccer team in Chiangrai, our neighboring province. It gave an opportunity for all the students who attended the weekly morning worship service to pray for the 13 lives coming out of the cave and all the divers and rescuers. We talked about how the rope in the cave is like the life line of God's Word to get us out of the darkness of sin. We discussed the power of unity; with one cause, united with one heart we can overcome all the problems.
A story of a suspended bridge in Chiangmai. The architect design of the bridge is liken to the Golden Gate Bridge of San Francisco. The only one of its kind in Thailand. The bridge hangs over a large reservoir about 100 meters long. A great place to visit and 'hang around'.
It is always a great time when mission teams and new friends come to visit. In June, we had two precious ladies who came to give their testimony and words of encouragement to us. Another week, 16 high school students and their teachers joined us for service and spent the day playing with and loving on our girls.
A sight seeing trip was a great time for our older girls to practice being tour guides. Our 9th graders got to practice some English with IT students from Singapore. the hanging bridge and a cultural center. These 16-18 years old IT students and their teachers came to do a great service to our school by building an add-on to the kitchen and cafeteria.
Thailand's roads comes in many shapes and conditions. Some is smooth and modern and others are still rough to travel through. For me, traveling by motorbike is the best way to go... as long as you go carefully and stay away from the big wheeler! (I was riding along side of the girls' bus, and they got this picture of me on my bike.) But sometimes, the only means to get there is by foot... like a cross the rice fields :)
After seeing the girls off to school each morning... for 2 days a week, I make a early morning trip to visit this little wooden building that is a small Bible school. I teach English and Children's ministry to 52 students. These students here are those that decided to pursue God's word to be disciples of Jesus. Most come from humble background of the hill tribe villages and a few from the neighboring countries that oppose the Gospel. These young men and women seek a different path to put God first and bring hope and salvation to their home land.
