We enjoy a break from school each day with a time of some badminton. It is a good time for girls to develop their coordination skills as well as enjoying the great outdoor.

Each month we get to take the girls to go swimming. Most of them are not strong swimmers or non swimmers, but they are still learning. Most of them are very fearful of the water, and have very few experience in the pool. Being in the pool helps them to develop self confidence and adaptation to different surroundings. I teach the girls by age group to be able to float, swim and dive. On this day, the kindergarten-1st grade group is learning to float and wiggle in the water comfortably. They like it when I call them "Cute little shrimps." ;)
Our older girls worked hard in research and preparation to present booth of neighboring countries. Our girls dressed up to represent Japan, Indonesia, Korea and China. Many of their friends dressed up in national outfits of Malaysia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand. They have to write their reports in Thai and English. Do you see the rainbow in the rain clouds? Isn't it beautiful? Oh, how we needed the rain. It has been so dry and we were in a drought for about 2 years. Thank God for the rain...even during the morning hours as the children and I ride the school bus. We sing songs and memorize scriptures and pray together. Always a special time! Hosting three women, who had asked permission from our director in America to come visit the children's home. We picked them up at the airport and took them for dinner, then enjoy songs and dance from our girls. They had read an article about Breanna's House of Joy from a magazine and decided that if they get to come visit Thailand, they would make a point to visit. They blessed our girls with reading books, Barbie dolls and helped us as a whole household to be able to dine out at a restaurant where we cook our food at the table. |
