Songran now a days is a time of water splashing and water gun fights...But in the olden days, It was a time of the end of annual rice harvesting season and a beginning of a new calendar year for the northern Thai people. Traditionally, this is a time of great celebration where families and friends would gather to feast and to greet one another with pouring of fragrant water to say " Happy new year, may you be blessed..."
We took this occasion to pray over the girls... and to teach our girls to say words of thanks, to bless and show respect to the special older people in their lives.
