At the end of July, through a circumstance that now I know was a blessing in disguise. I have been living in town, or very close to town since I came to Chiang Mai, over three years ago. Each visit that I would take to Brianna's House of Joy had taken me over an hour's ride on my motor bike. A round trip was about 80 kilometers. But I did not mind the scenic country ride out to the children's home and have been doing it for months. But about this time last month, before my family's visit from the States, the landlord of my bungalow told me that I cannot have my sister staying with me. I was very upset and decided that I had to find new accommodations right away. I prayed for guidance and Praise God, the next day, God lead me to this cute house surrounded by bushes and rice fields.
It belonged to a friend who worked at the Christian school where I had volunteered. Now I am renting a room, living with a lovely Christian family. I wake up each morning to the chorus sound of birds and frogs. The grandmother stays home alone and is happy to have some company. The younger people in the house want to learn English and now they have a lived in English teacher. It was a good arrangement for both the family and me. The best part for me in living here is that now I am only ten minutes away from my place of ministry, Breanna's House. Instead of a long ride back and forth, I'm just minutes away from the orphan girls who are learning English and growing in their walk with God.
