After three years of commuting on my motorbike, I finally got my oldest daughter a motorbike of her own. For the last 3 years, I have been picking her up from her college dorm to go where ever she needed to go. Her school and Grace, the missionary school where I volunteered, is about 15 kilos apart. She has been a great help to substitute for me when I could not volunteer at Grace on days that I have to be at Breanna's House of Joy, (Home for disadvantaged girls). She has also helped me when I was at the AIDS orphanage by teaching the girls piano and art. What joy to have my daughter participated in reaching out to the needy girls in Thailand. Thanks also for your support, that helped me to save up $1,500, to be able to buy my daughter her own transportation. Now she will be able to go to the store or to school without having to find a ride or walk. The best part now is that she can come see me whenever she wants. It is still a bit scary to see my two girls on the motorbike! I took this picture when we were at a red light and I was directly in front of them. I would never have thought that we would be riding motorbikes in Thailand! Surprisingly motorbikes happen to be the most practical mode of transportation in crowded traffic or on narrow streets. We pray before getting on the road every time! I NEED to share a bike story with you all. I have never ridden a motor bike until coming to Thailand 3 years ago. In the process of getting used to the bike, I have had my share of falling off the motor bike. Usually my minor injuries were due to road conditions or animals cutting across my path. Thanks be to God that I ONLY have one official accident. The incident happened many months ago. I have kept it to myself thinking that I should not cause you, my family and friends to worry or be anxious about my safety on the motor bike. But, I felt checked in my spirit about the need to share about the great things that The Lord has done for me, his intervention, and his protection. On a narrow street, not too far from this road, I was coming home from downtown one day. As I approached the split in the road, a car was turning toward me. I had the right of way, but he did not see me and collided with me. Would you believe that my bike I were not hurt at all? It must have been an angel that kept the car from hitting me. The only contact of the car and my bike was when my back foot rest scraped the car's front bumper and tore it completely off! My little blue Honda bike, over came the big Toyota Sedan and no one was hurt. I just wanted share how well the Lord can take care of people.
